The Challenge
Staffing is normally the most expensive resource for service
companies. To know exactly how your staff resource is being
utilised is key for a service company. Aimes Grid Services had
recognised that they needed to understand better how their staff
resource was being utilised, so that they could more accurately
estimate for new work and invoice for work they had completed.
The Solution
Aimes deployed Connect’s ‘off the shelf’ product PeoplePointLite (opens new
window) Time and Attendance, which is a web-based tool
that monitors staff and visitor time on premises, records absence
and lateness, manages holiday booking and approval, and allocates
time staff spend to the projects they have worked on.

To capture accurately the arrival and departure times of staff,
Aimes purchased from Connect inexpensive proximity card readers,
which integrate with PeoplePointLite with no specialist software or
technical expertise. Following a single demonstration, Aimes were
able to, implement and configure the system to meet their
operational and management reporting requirements and go live.
The Results
Like other small to medium sized companies using
PeoplePointLite, Aimes Grid Services are benefitting from having
real time management information on their staff’s time usage. Diane
