The Challenge
Two major law firms, UK based Denton Wilde Sapte LLP and
Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP based in the US, were
combining to form one international legal practice, SNR Denton,
with 48 locations in 32 countries across four continents, and
required a new website to be ready on the day of the launch of the
new firm. With a lead time from commission to website go-live of
just 8 weeks, the new site needed to be content managed and deliver
effective and intuitive navigation – essential with over 300
sectors and services featured – and high performance on search – a
must with almost 1200 people featured on the site. The website was
also required to act as a prime source of marketing collateral for
partners and other employees from both firms.
The Solution
Working together with representatives from a design agency based
in Boston, Denton Wilde Sapte in London and Sonnenschein Nath &
Rosenthal in Chicago, we created the site based on the Alterian CMC (formerly known as Immediacy
CMS), involving development of the CMS templates and implementation
of the design concepts.
To deliver the required high performance on search, we developed
a bespoke database and related applications for the administration
and advanced search features for the 1200 lawyer details. We also
provided content migration services for both firms using a
combination of scripting and manual techniques.
To provide marketing collateral, we implemented a bespoke
development to produce a printable PDF version of pages on the
website.
We also delivered data feeds from the new site to international
legal portals and global banking systems.
In parallel with the main website development, we rebranded the
separate Denton Wilde Sapte graduate
recruitment website (opens new window) to reflect the
new firm.
The Results
The new, fully populated websites for SNR Denton (opens new window)
were successfully launched on 29th September at 05:00 GMT, midnight
EDT, and incorporated all the required features.
