Connect wins new contract with Department for Transport

Connect is delighted to announce a new contract with the Department for Transport for the provision of data sites to support the department’s procurement projects.

The commission – our first under the new Buying Solutions Software Applications framework for Web Design and Content Management – will initially create sites to support passenger rail franchising, enabling several projects to be securely catered for simultaneously.

The data sites will be underpinned by a web-based document management system (DMS) that will enable the department to upload documents and other information and to track user viewings. The selected DMS is Peoplepoint – Connect’s own proven solution for managing information-rich data sites.

The two-year contract includes a fully managed, resilient hosting service at Connect’s ISO 27001 accredited data centre.

Following our success on previous frameworks such as Catalist and now the recent award of a place on the Software Applications framework, Connect is delighted to be able to continue to offer the DfT and other public sector customers excellent value for money and rapid procurement through this new framework.
