Connect's partnership with the Scottish Assessors
Association reached a new and significant milestone on 1st April
with the successful web launch of the new Rateable Values for
properties throughout Scotland, in accordance with the statutory
requirement.
Connect developed and manage the Scottish Assessors Association's web site
(opens new window), which provides access to the Council Tax
Band or Rateable Value for every property in Scotland.
Every five years, on the 1st April, all Rateable Values in
Scotland are revised as part of a statutory five year cycle of
Revaluations. Connect plays a large role in this process, archiving
the previous set of Rateable Values (so that they are available to
the public, but separate from the current values) and then loading
the complete new set of values.
Furthermore, with this year's revaluations, Connect added
a new feature to the website - the ability to view a summary of how
a valuation was arrived at for a property.
Connect successfully delivered to the due date, so that
all values were available and all summary valuations linked to the
relevant properties. The changes to the system were processed
overnight so as to be available first thing in the morning on 1st
April 2010.
