Connect Internet Solutions has recently completed some
interesting enhancements to Post Racing’s Fantasy Horse Racing
Game.
The free-to-play game supports horse racing charities, offering
players the option to donate. Working with a generous fantasy
budget of £50 million, players create and manage their own virtual
stables of race horses (chosen from a list of top UK horses)
throughout the racing season. By placing their horses on the
virtual track each time they run in real life, players can earn
points for horses that ‘win, place or simply race’.
One of the principal upgrades Connect has made is the addition
of mini-league functionality. Every stable is automatically entered
into the overall league and a mini-league which consists
of a maximum of 10 stables. Players can also create and name their
own mini-leagues which they can invite other players in the game to
join. So, keen players can pit their wits against the competition,
in multiple mini-leagues.
The horse trading rules of the game have also been revised. For
example, instead of four horse trades per month, players
can now make four horse trades per week, allowing more
meticulous stable management.
Connect has also added a few things to the admin side of the
site, allowing Post Racing to manage the site more easily. A new
horse management facility allows the addition or editing of horses
and the importation of horse lists into the system, all supported
with validation checks to ensure all information is verified.
Connect’s Senior Developer, Jim Geary, commented:
“Our long-running partnership with Post Racing has given us
a clear understanding of their enthusiasm for horse racing.
These enhancements make game management more effortless for Post
Racing and stable management more engaging for players.”
