Connect has started work on a new web development contract with
a European consortium of legal academics and practitioners in a
project to broaden access to justice.
Working with the pan-European consortium led by Tilburg Law
School at Tilburg University in the Netherlands, Connect will
develop a web application that will provide suppliers of justice
with a means of measuring the costs and quality of their legal
procedures.
The system will especially support providers of on-line dispute
resolution, including legal advisors and mediators, in a process
particularly suitable for solving cross-border disputes, and will
be produced in the six official languages of the EU.
The system will be developed using an open source framework
based on a Linux platform.
Connect’s Carole Boardman said “This is a really interesting
project. Creating a web application to measure the quality of
justice really offers us the opportunity to demonstrate our
innovation. We’ve been working with the legal sector for some time
now and this new contract expands the way we engage with the sector
which can only be a good thing for our customers.”
