Highlighting our outstanding work in the local community,
Workability Plus for Cheshire West and Chester Council have
nominated Connect’s Learning Centre at Ellesmere Port, Wirral, for
an award in the ‘Proactive Support for an
Individual’ category.
The nomination reflects the positive encouragement and practical
help that our staff members have given to the learndirect
learners who have been referred to the Centre by Workability
Plus. As well as working with the learners to make it
possible for them to gain NVQs without being in formal employment,
the Centre has provided mock interviews and work experience in
marketing and advertising. The learners have subsequently moved
into paid work.
The awards will be announced at a ceremony at the Crowne Plaza
Hotel in Chester on 26 November 2009. Given our success in helping
people back into employment we hope we’re in with a great
chance!
