We are pleased to announce that we are now an accredited Living Wage employer. We join thousands of organisations across the UK who are committed to paying their employees the real Living Wage.

The real Living Wage rates are higher than the National Minimum Wage because they are independently-calculated based on what people need to live. The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid by over 5,000 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a fair day’s pay for a hard day’s work.

Accreditation with the Living Wage Foundation will allow us to promote and encourage practices which play an important role in helping people to lead fulfilling and rewarding working lives.

Our commitment to the real Living Wage ensures that everybody working at Connect receives a minimum hourly wage of £9.00 – significantly higher than the national minimum wage of £6.70.

Connect’s Managing Director, Janet Symes said: “Becoming an accredited Living Wage employer is all about holding ourselves accountable to the values we hold as an organisation, and encouraging others to do the same.

“We are delighted to be a part of this influential movement; a movement that has improved the wellbeing of thousands of people by providing them with increased independence and flexibility. It is essential that we foster inclusivity and fairness in all elements of our business, and moreover, supporting the real Living Wage is the right thing to do.”
