Connect prepares for UK IT Industry Awards

Connect has been nominated for the Best Not for Profit IT Project Award for our work on SENDirect at this year’s UK IT Industry Awards. The “rich, well-designed resource” has already received the digital seal of approval by the 2015 Big Chip Awards judges, where the project saw off strong competition to pick up the Best Not for Profit Project Award.

SENDirect enables crucial health, education and social care information to be accessed by parents and carers of children with special educational needs and disabilities throughout the UK. The bespoke site was built on an Umbraco content management system that required extensive technical development to incorporate a range of innovative features and complex functionality.

Connect Managing Director, Carole Boardman said: “This is an exciting time for Connect and SENDirect – after a grueling interview session with the esteemed judging panel, we are delighted that the technical and functional excellence of SENDirect has been recognised and we await the ceremony with excitement and anticipation.”

The UK IT Industry Awards celebrate the contributions of individuals, projects, organisations and technologies that have excelled in the use, development and deployment of IT in the past 12 months. The Best Not for Profit IT Project Award is presented to organisations or projects that have achieved exceptional results through outstanding project implementation.

The awards take place on Wednesday 18th November at the Battersea Park Events Arena in London. With over 1,300 guests set to attend, the awards will bring together the industry’s leading players for one of the biggest nights of the digital year.
